First mate, crew member and all-around awesome dude, Heath showed off his free-diving skills on 10/31/11.

Instead of dropping the anchor and risking any damage to the reef, Nai’a I can be tied to a ring that is permanently set in the reef on the sea floor. In this photo, captured by Jim, Heath demonstrates how this is done. After the sturdy rope is attached to the boat, a crew member dives 30 feet straight done to loop the rope through the ring and attach it to the boat once again. Great job, Heath! Way to make Dolphin Excursions proud
It’s been a minute since we’ve posted some new photos for all of you, so here you go! Your daily dose of ocean-critter love
This day octopus got up close and personal with a guest at our Makaha reef snorkel spot. As their name suggests, this type of octopus comes out during the day and the other type, the night octopus (super original, I know) comes out once the sun sets. “Tako” (pronounced as taco) just happens to be the Japanese word for these critters. Can you imagine making that mistake in a restaurant? Eeks!
Thank you, Jim for a great photo! Taken on 10/11/11.

We had a private charter that lasted three days and we would like to let you in on the fun that was had. Here we have a future Dolphin Captain braving the seas… and her own unrelenting charm.
You’re Awesome!
A message to Capt. Jenna, boat mate Heath, and photographer Jim. Thanks so much for a wonderful, fun experience! Our family from PA had an amazing time aboard your boat and in the water! We saw lots of dolphins, a spotted ray, a sea turtle and other fish. Thanks Jenna for a fun time, thanks Heath for your help in the boat, and thanks Jim for the great photos of our excursion! We will definitely suggest, to anyone visiting O’ahu, to give Dolphin Excursions a call! THANK YOU ALL!!!

Fabulous adventure on June 20,2011
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the most incredible adventure we could have wanted. We had never been to HAWAII before and our first outdoor adventure was with you!! What an amazing staff, from beginning to end we were well taken care of and safely looked after. Having teenage boys and younger kids on the tour with us, it was great to know that safety was the staffs #1 concern. We knew we were in great hands and because of that we were really able to relax and enjoy ourselves. We swam with about 30 dolphins, came within an arms reach of sea turtles and schools of tropical fishing making this a once in a lifetime trip. The staff was very knowledgeable, it was informative, and thrilling…I tell everyone I know that\’s going to Hawaii, that they MUST have a day with you…Stacey, Cullen, and Ryan McAfee of Lakewood, Washington.
HEADS UP! This is a great shot taken by Jim at Pokai Bay, right outside our harbor. Looks like these lucky guests are about to drop in and join in on the fun.
My Under the Sea Adventure
Hi! My name is Kylie. I am eight years old and over my summer vacation, I went to Hawaii. I did lots of great things, but the best thing I did was swimming with the dolphins and turtles. It was great! I saw a lot of baby dolphins and adult dolphins. They looked so silver and shiny. After searching and swimming with the dolphins three times, we went to look for giant turtles. The turtles were near the beach. I saw two giant turtles and one of them went up for air. I saw lots of colorful fishes too. After I went swimming, I got to eat some snacks on the boat. I also got to drive the boat. When I drove the boat, it felt twisty. After every kid on the boat got to drive, it was time to get off. It was an amazing trip and I hope I can do it next year.

It’s raining Spinners… Halleluiah. Small, docile, grey n’ lean… and-everything-in-between. SnapBam! Halleluiah it’s raining Spinners. My inner Martha Wash slips out from time to time when faced with this kind of imagery. Jim took this disco biscuit last Saturday.
